My lentil stew

Lentil stew is a very traditionnal Spanish dish. From Asturias in the North, till the Canary Islands, you find recipe for this stew!
Something that I always love from the Spanish stews is that is so easy, that you do not need to understand about cooking or whatever to prepare it,... I give you the ingredients, and please try to do it at home, you will see!



For 4 persons, you need:
- 250 grs of lentils
- 2 potatoes
- 2 carrots
- 1 onion
- 100 grs of  fat streaky bacon
- 2 Spanish black pudding (but not the Burgos ones)
- 2 small chorizos
- 2 laureal leaves, 4 cloves
- salt and pepper.

In a big pan, gather all the ingredients, cover with water, and put on medium heat for at least 1h. Check that there is always enough water and go adding if necessary.
Usually, it´s said that you have to keep the lentils at least 8h in cold water before to cook them,.... I did this recipe a lot of time, without doing this first step. You will perhaps need a little bit more time to have the stew ready, but, it will be fine!
If you have time, prepare the lentils the day before, and cook them again on the following day. This kind of stew, as always, is better the day after!

You can also use the rice black pudding (morcilla de Burgos) but do not cut them into pieces!
