Gazelle horns recipe

Gazelle Horns
This is my favorite recipe from the North African pastries wide range!

This is a crusty dough filled with an almond paste flavored with orange blossom and shaped as a gazelle horn! It is not too sweet as usually is the Magrehb pastries, and the orange blossom aroma is one of my favorite,... just amazing!

I use a very easy recipe to make it!

For 20 gazelle horns:

- 250 grs of almond powder
- 150 grs of  icing sugar
- 50 grs of melted butter
- 50 ml of blossom orange water

For the dough:
- 300 grs of flour
- 1/2 tea spoon of salt
- 100 ml of water
- 100 ml of oil

Turn your oven at 180ÂșC.
1/ Prepare the filling, mixing together the almonds and the sugar. Add the Melted butter and orange blossom water and mix all together with your fingers, till you get a paste. Reserve.

2/ Prepare the dough gathering first the flour and salt, and then the liquids. Mix together with you fingers till you get a nice dough.

3/ On  clean surface, spread a little bit of flour. Take a small bowl from the dough (nut size) and flatten till you get a thin round. Place in the middle a hazelnut size almond paste, wet the border of the circle with water and roll your horn and bend it as it gets the shape of a croissant. Make sure your horn is well sealed.
4/ Repeat the operation til you finish the ingredients. Place it on a oven tray and put it in the oven for 10 minutes.

When the gazelle horns are ready and golden, take them out and spread some icing sugar on top. Kee them in a close box for 1 week and enjoy it with a nice mint tea!

This is a perfect dessert after my express couscous! Enjoy!
