Sweet Life at Revsunds Prästgård: 1 week retreat in Sweden to quit sugar!
Guaranteed sugar free in one week on the Swedish countryside at Revsunds Prästgård.
We also planned a week in January (arrival on the 2nd) and March (arrival on the 17th) 2017. Please contact us for the program.
Revsunds Prästgård, together with certified nutritionist Cecilia Götherström and food blogger Stephanie Mazier, has put together a full week´s unique course right in the middle of the breath taking Swedish nature. A course where you cold turkey detox from your sugar craving while at the same time, receive the tools for a sugar free life – from what foods to buy to how to best prepare them. All in a relaxed and practical way.
You lodge at the previous priests quarters built in 1906 in the Swedish county of Jämtland, part of South Lapland.
The turn of the century manor at the shore of Lake Revsund breathes a serene atmosphere. Outside the trees are magically developing their beautiful autumn colours. Indoors the logs are crackling in the fireplace. There are no distractions. Only nature to inspire you, the silence to provide you with the perfect space to listen to what your own body needs and is telling you.
Free from criticasters with their “why no sugar?” All the participants have the same goal.
Every day we cook together according to the theme of the day (see details in the daily program below).
Nutritionist Cecilia Götherström and food connoisseur Stephanie Mazier will explain the background, the “how´s” and the “why´s” of all the recipes as well as provide you with practical advice. We will go through all meals and occasions possible – from breakfast to fingerfoods and all in between.
By the end of the week you will have gone through the worst symptoms of withdrawal as well as have gathered loads of practical experience and all the recipes to take home with you.
At the same time you will enjoy Sweden at its best. On the program we also have visits to local food artisans, a search for eatable berries and mushrooms, a walk through the forest with our alpaca’s, a Swedish movie night and more.
For those who wish there is also the possibility to start every day with a yoga lesson led by Cecilia who is also a certified yoga teacher.
At the end of the week you will receive a booklet with all the recipes and articles to take back home.
Cecilia and Stephanie are also working on the sugar free cook book “Sweet Life At Revsunds Prästgård”, which will be mailed to you as soon as it has been published.
In addition to the activities below, you sure will have some quiet time for yourself to go canoeing, fishing, hiking on the ancient pilgrims way St. Olavsleden or just sit at the beautiful lakeside.
Travel day , transfer from trainstation Bräcke/Airport Åre-Östersund to Revsund.
The second day in Revsund you will get to know some of the local food artisans personally. We will also focus on sugar free fika (Swedish for coffee or tea with a yummy nibble on the side – usually sweet ;-) ) and snacks. We will as well get an insight in to what sugar does in and to our bodies, what the withdrawal or sugar detox symptoms can be and how we handle these in the best way.
During day three, we go into the forest to pick the ultimate natural ingredients: berries and mushrooms. Afterwards we will for sure have enough energy to dive in to sugar free dinners while getting our hands dirty in the kitchen.
The fourth day we get out of bed on time to prepare a sugar free breakfast / brunch for ourselves. Which we will enjoy in the most relaxed “Sunday Brunch manner” as we are listening to a lecture on “Holistic Health” held by Cecilia.
In the afternoon we take it easy , the only thing set on the schedule is to prepare a lingondricka of the juice of the berries we picked yesterday.
We start the day by preparing a sugar free lunch. What do you bring to the office?
Then we take a walk with the alpaca’s living at Revsunds Prästgård. Dealing with these special animals makes you feel relaxed. We eat our packed lunch near a campfire in the woods.
Today we go “freestyle”.
We head to the supermarket and challenge you to find surprising and sugar free ingredients for fingerfoods and snacks. In the evening we have a Swedish movie night scheduled. We prepare our movie snacks and finger foods together as Cecilia is giving a lecture on the latest nutritional trends, how to interpret both current and future trends, cooking creatively with what you find in your fridge. And how does alcohol fit in to a sugar free lifestyle?
During our last day in Revsund celebration and remembrance is are the point pf focus – all festivities from birth till funeral, sugar free.
