How to make an easy meatloaf
The 7th of March, is Maciej's birthday. My nice Polish colleague doesn´t have a sweet tooth, and prefers the meat!
So, for my favourite meat eater, I baked a beautiful meatloaf!
The original American recipe is quite easy to make, so, but as always, I decided to make my own recipe with tasty ingredients!
I prepared a big meatloaf for 10 persons, like this everybody at the office could enjoy it:
- 1 kgs. of ground beef meat
- 500 grs. of ground pork meat
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 baguette of brad crumbs
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 red onion
- 20 grs. of parsley
- 25 grs. of chives
- 1 tbs. of ketchup
- 2 tbs. of Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbs. of Cognac
- A little bit of Olive oil to grease the baking pan and the top of the meatloaf
- Salt and pepper
Turn the oven at 250ºC.
First, I chopped thinly the onion, garlic, parsley and chives. In a small bowl, I beat a little bit the 2 eggs together.
In a bowl, gather the ingredients, and then mix well with your fingers. It is important to do it with your hands and not compact the meat. Check if the seasoning is fine.
In a baking pan, put some cooking paper or grease well the inside before to put your mixture. With a brush, put some olive oil also on the top of the meatloaf and bake it for 1h30. After 30 minutes, check if the top is not to much grilled, add some foil if yes, and lower to 220ºC.
If you have a thermometer, it is all the more easy to check if your meatloaf is cooked. The inside should be at 160ºC.
When, it´s done, let it cool a little bit, and serve it with a tomato sauce and potatoes! Delicious!
