Pesto palmeras

Eastern is around the corner!

Something really nice and easy to prepare for an appetizer if you receive guests for the occasion is my pesto palmeras! It is so easy and quick to prepare, that you will forget about crisps and propose this nice small pastry!

Palmeras is the name in Spanish for palm. This is the name of this large pastry biscuit that is usually sweet!

I propose a different version, with pesto! Of course the best would be to make your own pesto, but when you have guest for lunch, you already have a lot of things to prepare, so let's do it easy: buy at the supermarket a small pot of pesto Gevonese and a roll of puff pastry ready to cook!

Turn the oven to 180ºC.

1/ Spread delicately the pastry. I recommend to take the pastry out of the fridge 5 minutes before to use it and unroll smoothly. Keep the paper under.
Spread a thin cover of pesto all over the pastry.

2/ Roll the pastry till the middle and roll from the opposite side the pastry as well till the middle.
Place your double rolls in a plastic film, and put it in the freezer for 20 minutes.

3/ Passed this time, take off the pastry from the freezer, unwrap it and carefully, slice the double roll. You will get your nice palmeras!

4/ Put it in the oven 15 minutes a 180ºC approx. Take them off when they are puffy and golden!

Try the recipe and let me know what do you think about it!
