Who wants to try French cuisine at an acceptable price in Amsterdam?

Le BistrotNeuf, located on the Haarlemmerstraat offers a nice decorated place where you feel relax and cozy, a quite different impression than the busy street where you are coming from when you get in.
I have to say that the service was really correct, and our waitress was always smiling and helpful as well as effective.

We went a group of 14 persons, and had a fixed menu that was quite nice. As starter I ordered a chicken liver pate with caramelized onions. It was nice but not exceptional for me and I regretted that the onions were not more caramelized but sour.
I had the chance to try the escargots and the tartare steak that were well prepared.

As second, I chose the sea bass fillet with south vegetables. The fish was perfectly cooked and the veggies were delicious. One of my friend who had the same dish, would have appreciated the fish skin a little bit more crispy, but I am afraid that the fishe would have been over cooked so,... no regret!

For dessert, I tried the homemade mango tart. It was nice, but nothing amazing.

The menu is 29.95 Euros. We had some very niche from a very well done Wine list. I chose a Valdeorras, a Spanish wine from the North of the country, not so famous, that is really nice and complex!
