Puerto means port in Spanish. And as the owner of the place likes to call it like Pata Negra port. For me, it is definitely a port,... not only because the tapas bar faced the water in North Amsterdam, but mainly because in this bar, after 3 years living in the Netherlands, I felt home again, in my port, in Madrid!
I went with Veronica and we had to choose among a long list of tapas.
We finally decided to try pulpo a la gallega (octopus), Iberico ham and a tortilla.
I really love the fact that they freshly cooked the tortilla for us. It was delicious though!
The octopus also was perfectly cooked and tasty. But the most important is that the Iberico ham was delicious and perfectly sliced by knife! wow! This is not common!
I also found pimientos del padrón, small green pepper coming from the Galicia region, just fried and served with salt. They are usually sweet, except some spicy ones,... that I always get,...
It was a great atmosphere, with a lot of young people serving, attending all the tables with smile and enthusiasm!
We finished the evening on the bar upstairs with an amazing mojito, and I really feel like back home!
If you want to enjoy good food and have fun with friends, I highly recommend you to stop there!
