I had like a craving: stuffed tomatoes!
This is a very traditional dish my mom was used to cook when I was young. And the other day, I just had a flash, I wanted some stuffed tomatoes! it is quite difficult though to get the same taste of the meat stuffing when you do not live in France.
I added some of new ingredients, and surprisingly, it was delicious! And not so far away from my mom's original recipe!
Ingredients for 6 persons:
- 6 small tomatoes or 2 courgettes, or 4 green bell peppers or a mix
- 200 gr. of minced beef
- 1 handful of chives
- 1 spring onion
- 1 garlic clove
- 2 tbsp. of Chia seeds
- salt and pepper
- 1 egg
1/ Clean the vegetables. Cut a hat and take off the inside meat.
2/ Slice thinly the spring onion, chives and garlic. Mix with the minced beef.
3/ Add the egg, chia seeds and season the beef mixture.
4/ Stuff the veggies with the preparation. Put back
the hats and cook in the oven for 30 minutes at 180ºC.
Serve with some rice. It was a really surprising and nice lunch!
