My 6 best smoothies with tips and rules to make the perfect green smoothie
Smoothies, smoothies bowls, green smoothies and all kind shakes are so popular among the healthy people! I have to admit it is quite tempting to get in one glass 50% of your fruit and vegetable daily intake!
Smoothie? |
So, helped by my best health advocate, friend and partner, Cecilia Gotherstrom, I started to try options and find some healthy smoothies that are also super tasty and delicious!
Basically, you can mix everything you want together! But there is always hidden rules to make the perfect smoothie!
Mix of fresh and frozen fruits for the smoothie |
What kind of fat can we use? Easy, again! Adding a handful of nuts or a glass of any milk you like, will do!
Rule 2: You heard well: fruits AND vegetables! Not a fan of salads or raw veggies? hide it in your smoothie! You will not even notice it and will feel so proud of yourself, being a whole grown up and healthy dude! I eat veggies!
Rule 3: GREEN. I know it sounds scary,... but again, the whole point is to get the green color with a rainbow flavor!
Fruits and seeds for smoothie |
To finish, let me share with you some practical tips:
The following 5 recipes are super quick, easy, and I promise delicious! Feel free to adjust consistency and ingredients along with your own personal taste. The smoothie is too thick, add some water, milk, or juice. Too liquid? add some more nuts, flax seeds or chia seeds!
Don't be scared to add the whole fruit with skin or the stalks. The blender will make it smooth enough to enjoy it, and you will get more nutrients and flavor, with less work! Though, make sure you clean well all your fruits and veggies, or choose organic ones if possible.
Use as much as possible seasonal fruits! And if you really want some exotic ones, use the frozen options! Besides the fact, that they will be cheaper and probably more environment friendly, they will also give you a fresh hint to your smoothie if we are in summer!
On the same idea, if you are in a hurry when you go to work in the morning, why don't you prepare, cut and slice all the ingredients and keep it in the freezer. you just have to get your bag out the night before, or even on the same morning in summer, blend it, and hop! you go!

But, feel free to experiment with any kind of green leaves you have around: kale, spinach, all greens salads, fresh herbs and even spirulina, matcha tea or chlorella. Think of fennel, celery, carrots, beetroots for the rainbow!
